Installation requires removing a small piece of metal from the tailgate. Step-by-step instructions and a template showing exactly what material needs to be removed are included. The module comes in a black powder-coated finish and includes all necessary installation materials. Additionally, sound-deadening foam is included to prevent noise and damage.

A protective layer made of robust polycarbonate is available as an option and is particularly recommended if heavy items are frequently loaded, the tailgate is used for standing or cooking. A marine carpet lining is also available as an option.
