IBS Relay Booster Module

The RBM+ Relay Booster Module is an optional extension for the IBS-DBS and DBi-DBS dual battery systems. It enables emergency starting from the auxiliary battery, even if the starter battery is discharged below 8.5V. This is particularly useful in situations where vehicles are heavily used or the batteries cannot be charged for long periods, such as when travelling by ferry or when headlights are forgotten. The RBM+ is designed to work reliably even in extreme conditions and to extend the life of the relay contacts. It is easy to install and significantly improves starting performance when the auxiliary battery is sufficiently charged.

For best results we recommend:

• Use 25 or 35mm² cables between relay and batteries.
• Only mount the RBM+ using the cables provided.
• If the existing relay has not been replaced with a stronger 200A relay, a connection can be made with a discharged starter battery, but the relay contacts could be damaged. For diesel engines, we recommend preheating twice before starting to keep the current to a minimum.
