The OME spring for the Ford Ranger 2AB / Mazda BT 50 is a specially developed leaf spring designed for the rear axle to allow a lift of +50 mm. With various designs and individual adjustment options, it offers an ideal solution to meet the different requirements of different vehicles. Thanks to its unique properties, it not only ensures improved performance and durability, but also increased vehicle stability and optimal driving behavior, especially in off-road use.
OME leaf springs are available in a wide range of designs to meet the different requirements of different vehicles. These requirements can vary due to different engines or the additional installation of accessories with additional weight. In addition to the variation in the number of spring layers, the material used, the thickness and the bend of the individual layers also play an important role.
In addition, almost all OME leaf springs can be customized by removing or adding layers. By adding or removing polyurethane friction discs and spacers, additional fine-tuning is possible to increase or decrease the friction properties of the spring according to your own needs.
Despite this diversity, all OME leaf springs share certain characteristics:
- The contact points on the axle are flattened to ensure a clean fit and to reduce the tension on the spring and U-bolt.
- The ends of the spring layers are wedge- or trapezoid-shaped, which improves response and reduces the risk of breakage at the highly stressed end tips.
- Flattened friction discs that can be lubricated also improve response and reduce noise.
- Replaceable nylon slide rails on the guide brackets reduce friction and the associated noise.
- All spring layers are shot blasted before assembly to reduce surface tension and compact the material, which increases service life.
- After assembly, all spring packages are placed under full load and tested for the desired spring rate to ensure optimum performance.
